By Road

From Melbourne:

  • Take the Princes Highway (M1) to the far (Eastern) outskirts of Traralgon.
  • Almost out of Traralgon on the East side, turn left onto C105 (Traralgon-Maffra Rd) to Heyfield (44km), passing through Glengarry (9km), Toongabbie (20km) and Cowwarr (32km).
  • If going to Coongulla: stay on C105 through Heyfield and turn right at the round-about junction of C105 and C486 (Licola Rd); ignore the signs to Glenmaggie and look for signs to Glenmaggie Weir.  About 1km further on, turn left onto Weir Rd at Eastern outskirts of Heyfield where the big gum tree sits in the intersecting road. Follow signs to Glenmaggie Weir and Coongulla (12km), passing through an offset T-intersection after about 5km.
  • If going to Glenmaggie: go straight through the roundabout by the Timberline Store (closest petrol to the lake) and continue on; the lake will appear on your right.
